A grease fire that started in the kitchen of a Denny's in Lakewood Tuesday morning spread to the restaurant's attic, fire officials said.
“There is extensive damage to the restaurant's kitchen and attic space.” West Metro Fire and Rescue Service said in a statement on social media: Tuesday morning.
West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a report of a fire at the Lakewood Denny's at 565 Union Boulevard around 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, according to PulsePoint records.
Fire officials said employees and customers were inside the Denny's when the grease fire broke out, but no one was injured.

UPDATE: The fire was an accidental grease fire that started in the kitchen and then spread to the attic. There is extensive damage to the attic space above the kitchen and restaurant.
