A fully functional organizer: Brightroom 6 Compartment Organizer
I've been using this stationary plastic organizer from Brightland at Target for a while now, both in our old house and after we moved, and I've been mostly happy with it. The compartments are spacious and have high sides so things don't fall into the wrong place, and it's bright white so you can see at a glance when it's time to wash it (it's dishwasher safe!). I also love that the top horizontal bay that runs perpendicular to the other compartments is roomy enough to hold my Boksa cheese slicer (which I use to make citrus twists for cocktails), my Oxo Y-shaped peeler, my bulky Oxo can opener, and a set of measuring spoons. But it's nowhere near enough for my utensil drawer, and I would have liked at least one more vertical compartment. I had to put a non-slip shelf liner underneath because it would shift around in the drawer. Still, the price is very reasonable, and these organizers can be stacked if you have ridiculously deep drawers or store silverware on counters or shelves.

Expandable plastic organizer everywhere
For the longest time, I thought an organizer like this would solve all my utensil drawer problems. It's affordable, expands to about 23 inches, has up to 10 compartments, and is made of plastic so it's easy to clean. However, most of these models have rounded corners that allow dust and debris to fall into the drawer, and the bottoms tend to slide around in the drawer, so you should use non-slip shelf liners. Also, I prefer light colors because black makes it hard to see dirt that has fallen into the compartments, but this model comes in five bright colors. This is the organizer I tried, but there are many similar organizers available on Amazon and other retailers.

Expandable bamboo organizer for anywhere
This organizer is totally fine. And largely You'll need to extend it to its full 22 inches to fill the drawer width-wise. It has up to 10 compartments, and I like that the corners are sharp and line up with the corners of the drawers, but when extended there's a small groove on the front that looks like it could become a place for crumbs and dirt to collect. The adjustable dividers are also a bit weak, and the bottom is hard, so you'll need to place this organizer on a non-slip shelf to keep it from sliding around when opening and closing the drawer. It comes with little labels in case you need to label the compartments, but I feel like it's a bit overkill.

Yamazaki Home Tower Expandable Cutlery Drawer Organizer
I'm pretty obsessed with this Japanese homeware brand and already have a few Yamazaki products at home, so I was really hoping the expandable cutlery organizer would work for me. Unfortunately, even when fully expanded, this hard plastic organizer only has five compartments and I need more (not counting the little acrylic tray on top, which is very small and shallow). It also slides around in the drawer. But all is not lost! I'm currently using this to store Nespresso pods in a narrow drawer next to my Vertuo machine, and it works very well for that purpose.

Joseph Joseph DrawerStore Dish Organizer
I really wanted to like this slim, space-saving, stackable flatware organizer from Joseph Joseph, hoping it would hold all of my flatware. That way I could put all my utensils in the same drawer and leave another whole drawer free for trivets and hot pads. But the center divider doesn't reach all the way to the bottom, so the small, light flatware my kids use falls over and disappears at the bottom of this divider. Plus, the handles on the larger, sturdier flatware stick out too far and get caught when I open and close the drawer. The handles are pointing up, so it's hard to tell what's what (there are little marks for spoons, forks, and knives at the end of each row, but it's almost impossible to see unless you know where to look). If you have narrow, deep drawers, this product may be very useful, but for me, it just wasn't the silverware storage solution I was hoping for.
