This post is part of our “Monthly Obsessions” series, in which we ask our writers and editors what product they added to their kitchen that they now can't live without.
The Food & Wine team is always trying out the latest and greatest food and kitchen gadgets. We test hundreds of kitchen gadgets every month, but each month, a few products stand out from the crowd. When we find a kitchen gadget, pantry item, or brand collaboration that we love, we're instantly excited to share our recommendation with family, friends, and readers.
Here are 10 of our favorite kitchen finds from July, including canned fish teacups, a Staub skillet, and a Stanley cooler, with all July's featured items starting at just $14.

Stanley All Day Julienne Mini Cooler
“I can't tell you how many compliments I've gotten on this cute little cooler bag from Stanley (yes, the Stanley that sells those cups). It's slim enough to wear cross-body when running errands around town, and it easily holds 7-8 cans of drinks along with a small ice pack. I recently used it on a 90 degree day to transport a case of wine to a birthday party at the park about 45 minutes from my apartment, and was amazed at how cold it stayed! This is a cooler bag for city dwellers!” – Ossett Babur Winter, Senior Drinks Editor
Staub 11 inch deep skillet
“I'm always grateful for this pan, but during the summer I appreciate it even more for the role it plays in my kitchen. This pan is the perfect cast iron for me and has so much room for a variety of recipes. It's also deep enough to use for baking. The enamel coating is durable and everything I cook in this pan tastes amazing. I use this pan every week for things like berry cobbler, easy lasagna in a pesto skillet, and blackened salmon for tacos.” – Kristin Montemarano, Commerce Writer
Knapp Chainmail Scrubber
“I use it daily to wash my cast iron pans after cooking. The Chainmail Scrubber thoroughly removes stubborn burnt-on food yet remains gentle on seasonings. I've had the stainless for years and it has never rusted, and the Chainmail remains amazingly intact even when scrubbed!” – Ahn Won, Commercial Writer
DS & Durga Jalisco Rain Candle
“I'm skeptical of wine and spirits scented candles, having tried so many that are too sweet, too strong or just plain dull. That said, I find myself burning the DS & Durga x LaloALO Tequila collaboration candle every day. This candle fills my living room with the scent of clean, fresh cotton sheets and I love the woody, damp earthy scent that lingers in the space. If more booze-themed candles smelled like this, I'd definitely reconsider my stance!” – Babyl Winter
“Fruit” by Cedric Grolet
“I'm a fall lover at heart, and often wait until summer is cool enough to use allspice and nutmeg. But lately I've been trying to use more summer fruits like berries, cherries and tomatoes in creative ways to keep my passion for baking alive. And Cedric Grolet's cookbook, Fruit, supports my passion in the best way possible. Beyond the beautiful trompe l'oeil variety, the book is packed with basic mom's recipes and useful baking tips. Whether you're looking for a simple ganache recipe or tips for spray painting realistic pastries, this masterpiece has you covered. Plus, who wouldn't want to not have a copy of this stunning lemon yellow hardback on their bookshelf while they read?” – Dillon Evans, Breaking News Writer
Nalgene Water Bottle
“When summer heat and humidity are at their peak, the only way to stay hydrated is to carry a water bottle wherever you go. This 1000ml Nalgene is perfect for just that. It has a generous capacity so you don't have to refill it as often, and the wide mouth makes it easy and quick to clean.” – Karen Shimizu, Editor in Chief
Lisa Says Ghar x Fishwife Sardine T-shirt
“I'm always excited when two of my favorite brands collaborate, and that was certainly the case when I found out about Fishwife's recent collaboration with boutique Lisa Says Gah, the Aperitivo by the Sea collection. This sardine t-shirt features a colorful illustration of the canned fish and is my favorite from the line. It sold out within a few weeks, but is now available for pre-order.” – Katie Brown, Commerce Writer
McSunley Water Bath Canner and Canning Tools
“It's canning season on our Vermont farm, so this canning pot will be a permanent fixture on the stove for the next month! Tomato sauce, strawberry jam, raspberry jam, peach cardamom jam, bread and butter pickles, dill beans – these are just a few of the jars that will be constantly coming out of this beloved pot. And let's not forget the canning tools, which are just as important!” – Breanna Killeen, Senior Food Editor
Viski Crystal Tiki Glasses
“Rum has been all the rage in my house this summer so I bought these glasses to add to the atmosphere. I love how heavy they are in the hand and how durable they are. For cocktails I've been reading a lot of Martin Cate's fantastic book, Smuggler's Cove: The Cult of Exotic Cocktails, Rum and Tiki, which I highly recommend. My favourite thing I've made so far is the Chartreuse Swizzle.” – Adam Rothbarth, commerce writer
Charles Viancin Lily Pad Silicone Lid
“There's nothing more annoying than having to clean up microwave splatters after heating up food. These silicone lids eliminate the hassle! They trap splatters inside bowls or cups to reduce cooking time. You can also use them in place of saran wrap to keep half-eaten food fresh in the fridge. Plus, the lily leaf design is super cute!” – Phoebe Sklansky, Senior Commercial Editor
