The industry's first facility will be located in Bloomingdale, Georgia.
Savannah, Georgia-based Parker's Kitchen has filed construction documents for two stores in southeast Georgia, a first for the industry, What Now Atlanta reported.
According to the documents, the proposed locations are along Old River Road and Little Neck Road, respectively, in Bloomingdale, Ga. Plans call for 16 fuel pumps and a 5,175-square-foot convenience store at the Old River Road location.
As the chain focuses on expanding its presence in these existing markets, it is also beginning to expand into new markets.
Foodservice-focused growth
On May 22, Parker's opened its first store in the Augusta, Georgia market.
“Augusta is a growing and exciting place,” said Greg Parker, founder and CEO of Parker's Kitchen, who officially cut the ribbon at the grand opening of the company's newest store in Augusta, Ga. “We're so honored to be part of the community and have seen such a great response from our customers in the Augusta area.”
Like its other locations, the new location serves award-winning, Southern-inspired cuisine made by local chefs using fresh ingredients.
In addition to serving fresh ingredients, the restaurant also offers dine-in, take-out meal options and electronic kiosk ordering. Popular items include hand-breaded Southern Fried Chicken Tenders, specialty macaroni & cheese, potato logs, Parker's Kitchen spicy chicken tender sandwiches and freshly prepared salads.
Other highlights include gourmet bean-to-cup coffee, freshly brewed sweet and unsweetened teas, fancy lemonades, 28-proof beers and a variety of fountain drinks made with signature Parker's Kitchen Chewy Ice.
The exterior of Parker's new building features the chain's signature Lowcountry-inspired architecture, including a modern, contemporary glass front façade, lime-finished brick, designer lighting and fresh bathrooms.
Parker's Kitchen currently operates 88 locations in Georgia and South Carolina and plans to double its locations across the Southeast over the next four years. The company is currently in the midst of a major expansion into new markets including Augusta, Georgia; Aiken, South Carolina; Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and Jacksonville, Florida.
Each new store in the industry provides 25-30 jobs to local residents and offers a highly competitive wage and benefits package, and Parker's Kitchen employs 75-85 contractors to build each new store in the Metro Augusta area.
Parker's was named the 2020 CStore Decisions Chain of the Year.
