The popularity of cooking classes for young people has led to a growing need for complete kitchen renovations
– The Paso Robles Youth Arts Center received a $50,000 grant from Justin Vineyard and Winery’s Community Grants Program to help renovate its kitchen into a Justin Culinary Arts Teaching Kitchen. The renovated kitchen is designed to provide an optimal learning environment, increase student safety and maximize educational opportunities.
The popularity of our youth cooking classes has necessitated a complete kitchen renovation, allowing us to offer more classes, eliminate waiting lists and allow more students to benefit from our cooking classes. The program teaches young people basic cooking skills, how to create amazing dishes using common ingredients and provides nutritious student-made meals at each class.
“Our classes inspire passions in local youth, enrich their creativity, improve their mental health and provide a pathway to living-wage jobs,” said Barbie Wunsch, executive director of the Paso Robles Youth Arts Center. “Culinary arts provides students with critical skills that will help them improve the quality of life for themselves and their families. We are incredibly grateful to Justin Vineyards & Winery for their generous support of this project.”
The new Justin Culinary Arts Classroom Kitchen is scheduled for completion in May 2025.
