ROMAAR Hell's Kitchen will redefine the hotel experience by seamlessly weaving the vibrant spirit of its neighborhood into every aspect of its operations. Opening in Fall 2023, the 295-room haven will be more than just a place to stay; it will be a dynamic hub where the essence of Manhattan's legendary Hell's Kitchen comes to life.
Imagine a hotel where the concierges are not only trained in hospitality, but also by local bar owners who know all the best late-night eats. This unique touch puts the inside information at guests' fingertips and makes their stay truly authentic. Romer Hell's Kitchen doesn't just have a presence in the neighborhood; it represents the neighborhood, as exemplified by its appointed “Mayor of the Block.” This friendly figure embodies the hotel's commitment to fostering authentic connections and making every guest feel part of the community.
The hotel's dedication to supporting local businesses is evident in its collaboration with a local vintage shop, who designed the staff uniforms and accessories. The partnership not only highlights local talent, but also adds a unique flair to the hotel's ambiance, reflecting the eclectic charm of Hell's Kitchen.
Romer Hell's Kitchen is founded on the belief that travel should be a deep connection with local culture, where guests are encouraged to immerse themselves in the community and transform from visitor to local, who find comfort in the place they frequent. This innovative approach creates a vibrant, inclusive atmosphere that blurs the lines between traveler and resident, fostering a sense of belonging for all.
At its heart, ROMAAR Hell's Kitchen is more than just a hotel – it's a celebration of community, culture and connection – a place where the pulse of Manhattan's Hell's Kitchen resonates through every interaction and every stay is an enriching and memorable experience.

“When we say Romer is built to fit into the community, we mean it,” said Arash Azarberzin, CEO of Highgate. “The inspiration for Romer came from the constant travel I've experienced throughout my career. When I arrive in a new destination, whether for business or leisure, I want to experience the place as authentically as possible – eating where the locals eat and discovering the best that the destination has to offer, rather than falling into tourist traps. Our aim with Romer is to design, program and revitalize the hotel so that it not only delivers on our brand promise, but is also an extension of exploring the local neighborhood.”
“We built Romer Hell's Kitchen in-house from the ground up with a single premise: to provide a 'good neighbor experience' for everyone. From there, we created the brand in-house before design even began, giving every part of the hotel a clear purpose,” says Carrie Peck, creative director at Romer Hell's Kitchen. “Romar celebrates the beauty of the unexpected, encouraging people to ditch their overly researched itineraries for a more authentic New York experience right on their doorstep.”
