Alicia Keys' new musical opened at the Shubert Theater on April 20th.
The musical is on fire! hell's kitchen, Alicia Keys' new jukebox musical, opened April 20 at Broadway's Shubert Theater. And then the review arrived.
hell's kitchen It features music and lyrics by Keys and a book by Christopher Diaz. Inspired by the life of her 15-time Grammy Award winner, the story revolves around 17-year-old Ali and her mother, who share a small apartment near Times Square. Ali wants to realize her dreams of moving to New York, but her mother worries that her daughter will repeat her mistakes.
Directed by Michael Greif and choreographed by Camille A. Brown.

cast of hell's kitchen The cast is led by Shoshana Bean as Jersey, Brandon Victor Dixon as Davis, Keshia Lewis as Miss Liza Jane, Chris Lee as Knack, and Marea Joy Moon as Ali.
They are Chad Carstarphen as Ray, Vanessa Ferguson as Tiny, Jakeim Hart as Q, Jackie Leung as Jessica, Niceli Vega as Milly, Lamont Walker II as Riku, and Crystal. She will share the stage with actress Rema Webb and ensemble members Reed Clark and Chloe. Davis, Nico DeJesus, Timothy L. Edwards, David Guzman, Rachelle Manalo, Sarah Parker, and Niki Saldes. Rounding out the company are juniors Desmond Sean Ellington, Badia Farha, Gianna Harris, Jade Millan, Susan Oliveras and Oscar Whitney Jr. Swing Takia Hopson, Onyx Noel, Aaron Nicholas Patterson, William Roberson. Donna Vivino will be the standby in Jersey.

Most of the cast members are reprising their roles from the 2023 Off-Broadway premiere at the Public Theater, with only Webb, Vega, and Hopson making their Broadway debuts. Casting: Heidi Griffiths and Kate Murray.
Greif reassembled the Off-Broadway creative team for Broadway Vow. The musical team includes musical director Lily Lin and orchestrators Adam Blackstone and Tom Kitt, with arrangements by Keys and Blackstone. The creative team includes set designer Robert Brill, costume designer Dede Ayite, lighting designer Natasha Katz, sound designer Gareth Owen, projection designer Peter Nigrini, hair and wig designer Mia Neale. Also included is makeup designer Michael Clifton. Foresight Theatrical will serve as general manager and Danny Maly will serve as production stage manager.

AKW Productions will produce the Broadway production, with Aaron Rustbader serving as executive producer.
