New York (1010 wins/WCBS 880) – A robber accidentally shot his accomplice in the chest while trying to rob a man on Manhattan's West Side, police said Wednesday.
NYPD has arrested a man who was shot after going into a hospital for treatment, but investigators say they have two more suspects in a chaotic robbery in Hell's Kitchen on the morning of April 28. is currently being searched for.
According to police, at about 4:25 a.m. that Sunday, a 35-year-old man was at the intersection of West 50th Street and 12th Avenue when three men got out of a white sedan and pushed him to the ground. It is said that

According to police, the perpetrators tried to steal the man's necklace, but when he resisted, one of the perpetrators pulled out a gun and fired a shot at him.
Rather than shooting the victim, the man shot his accomplice in the chest and left leg, police said.
The victim sustained no physical injuries and managed to retain his property.
The three returned to the car and fled the scene without anything.
The shooting suspect, identified by the New York Police Department as Benny Polanco of the Bronx, later entered NYU Langone Health for treatment and was taken into custody.
He is charged with attempted second-degree murder, first- and second-degree robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree gang assault, and second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
