ROBINSON, Pa. (KDKA) — Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen in Robinson Township has been ordered closed after an inspection found several violations.
The Allegheny County Health Department closed the Popeyes on Steubenville Pike after an inspection Tuesday.
The inspection report said the restaurant was not properly cleaning, rinsing, and sanitizing dishes, a high-risk violation. Many of the dishes had “excess grease and food particles accumulating,” the inspector wrote. He was also listed as a repeat offender.
According to the report, there was no hot water in the hand washing stations in the men's and women's restrooms, which was also a repeated violation.
Inspectors also found low-risk violations, including clogged urinals, clogged mop sinks and leaking sinks.
The Allegheny County Health Department said restaurants will be posted with closing placards if an “imminent health threat” is identified. According to the health department, high-risk violations refer to hazards that can directly lead to food poisoning or food injuries.
Closing placards were still posted at Popeyes, according to the health department's website as of Wednesday evening. The website will be updated once it has been removed.
