The restaurant was evacuated and no one was injured.
PARK CITY, Utah — Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Park City is temporarily closed following a kitchen fire on Thursday, April 11th.
PCFD Battalion Chief Sean Briley said crews were called to the restaurant at Hotel Park City, 2001 Park Avenue, around 4:30 p.m.
Firefighters were told the fire in the kitchen area was extinguished, but upon further investigation, they discovered burning flames.

“They saw a significant amount of smoke coming from the chimney next to the kitchen. It was unusually dark, there was a significant amount of smoke and there was significant pressure,” Ms Briley said. “So they came to investigate in full fire protection gear and it looked like the fire was out because all the smoke was being pulled out of the bonnet system, but when they pulled up the drop ceiling above it, they saw active flame activity. I found.”
Firefighters extinguished the flames and then proceeded to dismantle the kitchen appliances, insulation and ductwork to ensure there was no remaining fire.
The kitchen sustained extensive damage, and Briley expected the restaurant to remain closed for several weeks. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
