Custom drinks from Meeting Grounds Coffee Co.
With so many iconic cafes opening in the Kansas City area, there's something comforting about stopping by your local coffee shop to smell the freshly brewed coffee and sweet baked goods and order the drink you had in mind seconds before you arrived.
Located between Casey's and Feldman's Farm and Home in Liberty, Missouri. The Meeting Ground Coffee Company We pride ourselves on offering a fully customizable experience 7 days a week. Like most cafes, we offer the usual coffee, espresso and smoothie options. However, more Than change the drinks on the menu.
With a wide variety of flavors, milk options, spritzers, bubble tea and more, you can create a new drink to perfectly fit your mood and taste.
For example, ask your barista to make you a refreshing pineapple and passion fruit drink ($4.99). It's a custom order and not on the menu, but its sweet blend of tropical flavors and a hint of soda will make it the tastiest drink of the summer.
If you'd prefer to order a more traditional coffee drink, the latte ($4.25) is smooth and creamy, and of course, can be customized with a variety of syrups, including regular and sugar-free.
While I waited for my drink, relaxing in the cozy seating area, I ate something a bit more substantial – the gluten-free brownie looked delicious and is a staff favorite – this time I chose the chocolate croissant ($5) and strawberry pop tart ($4).
Both were sweet and savory, but the croissant was devoured almost immediately: its flaky golden crust was drizzled in chocolate and it broke apart satisfyingly with one bite, revealing layers of soft, light and buttery pastry.
Don't forget about our happy hours and specials: visit us on weekdays from 1-3pm or on Sundays from 11am-2pm and get 50% off your drink order. Plus, our weekly sales shared online and in-store are a welcome addition to your savings.

Delicious Plant-Based Meals from Tree Hugger Kitchen
Speaking of heavenly treats, Tree Hugger Kitchen, located just 10 minutes north of Kansas City's famous City Market, serves up flavorful, home-cooked meals for health-conscious diners: think juicy burgers, pulled pork barbecue sandwiches, loaded tacos, and other plant-based dishes.
Run by a local husband and wife, this bright and charming riverside restaurant serves delicious shareable dishes and a menu packed with irresistible dining options.
Try the Reuben ($12), which will have you hooked after just one bite. Corn jackfruit, sauerkraut, Follow Your Heart Gouda cheese, and housemade Thousand Island dressing sandwiched between two slices of toasted marbled rye bread. The savory and tart flavors of the sandwich are perfectly matched with the nutty flavor and crispy toasty texture of the bread.
If you're hungrier or have family or friends with you, try the Double Trouble tacos ($16) and mac and cheese ($6).
The Double Trouble Taco is made with two soft tortillas stuffed with refried beans and wrapped in a hard taco. The taco is stuffed with seasoned ground walnut chorizo, shredded lettuce, pico, plant-based cheese and drizzled with sour cream. It also comes with tortilla chips and salsa.
The purpose of the ground walnut chorizo isn't necessarily to fool carnivores, but to accentuate the overall texture and flavor expected in a taco. This dish is hearty.
The mac and cheese is listed as an “extra” and while it's cheesy, well-seasoned and delicious, it's worth noting that there is a distinct aftertaste that lingers on your tongue with every swallow. This is a sensation that plant-based eaters may be accustomed to, but it surprised us. Without this aftertaste, the mac and cheese would have completely stolen the show.
Still, it's a great place, second only to that sumptuous Reuben.
