KAPOLEI, Hawaii — Scratch Kitchen and Meatery, known for its popular all-day brunch, will celebrate its grand opening on Thursday, May 2nd at Ka Makana Alii.
The restaurant's newest location will officially open at 1 p.m. Patrons 18 and older who dine between 1:00 PM and 4:30 PM will receive a complimentary $25 gift card (to be eligible, patrons must be in line by 4:00 PM). age may be required). Scratch Kitchen has a loyal following at its Ward Village location in Kakaako. Owner Gary Chen said he always wanted to open a store on the west side. He initially considered Ko Olina, but was pleased to find Ka Makana Ali'i.
Kapolei Outpost offers several limited menu items, including the Gumbo “Pot Pie,” a rich, flavorful serving of scratch-made gumbo loaded with vegetables, chicken, and sausage. The aforementioned Smoked Prime Rib Dinner and Southern Fried Chicken Plate (served with two pieces of chicken, rice or cornbread, BBQ beans, corn salad, and Southern coleslaw).
Fan favorites like fried deviled eggs, Creole shrimp and sausage grits, and milk and cereal pancakes, as well as new dishes like abacargo, Pacific abalone served escargot-style with Cajun garlic butter and toasted bread. It offers. Some dishes are Kapolei versions of existing menu items, such as the Scratch Kapolei Benedict (additional charge) with a choice of pork belly, applewood smoked ham, or smoked salmon. Kapolei Restaurant's Smoked Prime Rib, available every Thursday, is a 14- to 16-ounce hand-cut smoked prime rib. Choose from sautéed broccoli and either smashed potatoes or garlic rice. The store is equipped with smokers (with more on the way) and plans to expand its smoked meat offerings.
Chen said he always wanted to perfect the overall concept of the restaurant's name. Since we have “butcher” in our name, we wanted to make sure we could sell meat. Restaurateurs love smoked meat and feel it resonates with Hawaii residents, she said.
In addition to our smoked meat menu, our Kapolei location also offers freshly squeezed Lemon Supply lemonades in Original, Yuzu, Basil, Lihing, and Raspberry flavors. There's also a take-out window for those who don't have time to sit and linger in a busy restaurant.
