GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Denver Siemon has worked as a chef for more than 20 years, primarily in fine dining and dinner service. Now she has opened Scratch Her Kitchen, a cafe and bakery at 199 Warren Street in Glen's Falls.
“Being a chef requires a lot of time, weekends and holidays, so I wanted to change my life,” Semon told NEWS10. “Scratch His Kitchen is a change for me because it will focus more on breakfast and lunch, takeout and bakery items.”
Mr. Semon most recently served as executive chef at Flight Wine Bar & Restaurant in Glens Falls. Prior to that, he was executive chef at The Aviator Restaurant in Queensbury and Brant was executive chef at Jimbo's/Point Opines in Lake.
Semon will focus on breakfast and lunch with a scratch kitchen menu featuring sandwiches, salads, baked goods and pastries, specialty coffee drinks, prepared meals and more. She also offers some special dinner nights.
“All food is made from scratch and carefully sourced,” Siemon said.
In addition to food and drinks, Semon will sell bouquets, vegetables and herbs at the scratch kitchen. Semon is a licensed nursery teacher and grows plants on his property.
Semon hasn't set an opening date yet, but he hopes to open the scratch kitchen in late April or early May. Firstly, the cafe's opening hours are Tuesday to Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm and Saturday from 9am to 3pm, but this is subject to change.
