Family business leader leads urban design center debut
For Sean Clarke, president of luxury kitchen and bath showroom Clarke, family and business go hand in hand. His grandfather opened his Connecticut-based appliance store in 1955, and decades later, his father, Tom Clark, continued the family tradition and became the nation's first Sub-Zero distributor, opening a store in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. First Clark opened his showroom.
Clark, who operates the first Sub-Zero showroom in the United States, is currently the exclusive New England distributor for high-performance appliance brands including Sub-Zero, Wolf, ASKO, Best, Scotsman, Waterstone Faucets and Dawn Sink. The line of top-of-the-line cabinetry and countertops is also featured in an episode of Clarke, which currently has three showrooms.
Under the direction of Sean Clark, the company took on its most ambitious project yet, opening its first urban showroom, 7 Tide, in Boston Seaport a year ago. This prestigious project has led to Sean Clark being invited by Sub-Zero and Wolf to serve as co-chair of their new Distributor Marketing Advisory Board.
“At 7 Tide, we built our most ambitious showroom and test kitchen ever and have already doubled in size in less than a year,” he said. And because the building provides more space than the company needs, synergistic companies such as Marvin Windows & Doors and Kohler have been attracted to open inspiration centers at this address.
