Betty Alexander of Sullivan, Missouri, is known as an excellent cook to her three adult children, John, Tonya, and David. But for them, good food was just an added bonus, as Betty would eat her home-cooked meals to keep her family together.
“She was a go-getter and a firecracker. The food she made for me was something I'll never forget. She was able to take an empty cupboard and, no joke, make this.” It felt like a gourmet meal,” John said.
Tonya said Betty was known for going all out for birthdays and other celebrations.
“Every birthday, I would prepare a few cakes, and one birthday she would make one for me,” Tonya remembers.
So since the 69-year-old mysteriously disappeared on April 10, 2019, one of the things her children have missed most is enjoying the meals their mother lovingly prepared.
In 2019, Betty was living alone in an apartment on South Center Street in Sullivan. Unfortunately, her husband passed away the previous year in 2018.
She also regularly took medication to treat pain after undergoing back surgery along her spine.
Betty's medication was also usually delivered to her home from the pharmacy. And on April 10, 2019, the situation remained the same.
That day, Betty was first discovered by a cleaning lady around 12pm, who later claimed that Betty seemed fine. A local pharmacy then delivered her two boxes of medication to her apartment around 1:15 p.m.
