Gymnastics phenom Simone Biles is giving us another glimpse into the Houston mansion she's building with her husband, Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens. The gold medalist seems to have an affinity for a timeless black and white color scheme. Biles posted four new photos of the mansion's interior on Instagram on Tuesday.
Of all the designs the Olympian shared, perhaps the most eye-catching is the striking black-and-white stone she chose for the kitchen's countertops, island, and backsplash. The marble's striking black veining lends drama to the space, as does its waterfall-like borders. Biles chose white cabinets to match the kitchen, but time will tell what hardware and finishes she chooses to complete her new kitchen. The classic black and white color scheme continues in another photo Biles shared of what appears to be a laundry room or pantry, with Art Deco-inspired zigzag geometric tiles covering the walls.
Biles also showed off the home's staircase, which is a big evolution from a September 2023 photo of herself sitting on a much more skeletal staircase. Now, the sleek wooden staircase appears to be nearly finished, featuring a modern wooden banister with minimal black balusters and a windowed landing. In August, the Ohio native shared a view from the top floor. “Walking around the second floor for the first time,” she captioned a photo of the wall-less space, revealing that the second floor will feature a game room with a wet bar, a theater, a bedroom, and a bathroom.
Biles, the all-time winningest gymnast, has been sharing construction updates since ground was broken on the facility in March 2023, one month before her wedding to the NFL star. Biles won her ninth U.S. Gymnastics Championship this week in Fort Worth, Texas.
