NASHVILLE, Tenn. (TN Tribune) – Slim + Husky's Pizza has partnered with Diskin Cider, Nashville's first and only craft cider brewery, to take over the kitchen inside Diskin's Wedgwood Houston tasting room.
Diskin customers began enjoying the pizza spot's mouthwatering fare following its soft opening in mid-June. Known for its artisanal selections, Slim + Husky's Diskin menu features eight popular specialty pizzas, current and new wing flavors, two new signature salads, cheese-stuffed buns and the popular cinnamon roll. Vegan and gluten-free options are also available.
“We've been wanting to collaborate with Slim + Husky's for a long time and are ecstatic to finally be doing something really cool together,” said Diskin Cider co-founder Todd Evans.
Slim + Husky's Pizza has been looking to expand its own brand of “Bialia” by exploring opportunities to add more craft beverage options: In May, the pizzeria launched a Tap Takeover event series and hosted a “So Icy” cider release party in collaboration with Diskin at Slim + Husky's locations across Middle Tennessee, followed by announcing a Kitchen Takeover in June.
“Our team has wanted to open a store in the Wedgewood Houston neighborhood for years, and the opportunity to collaborate with Diskin allows us to immediately contribute to the Wedgewood Houston community with another brand that cares about its neighbors. We look forward to adding to the cool vibe that Diskin has provided and fostered in the neighborhood, and we're excited to be a key part of the rapidly growing development in the area,” said Slim + Husky co-founder Clint Gray.
The official kitchen takeover will begin on Thursday, June 27, followed by a collaboration celebration event during Diskin's summer release party for their new “Cherry Bomb” cider. Slim + Husky's kitchen will share the same hours as the Cidery, but will eventually set up a takeout window on the street and accept walk-in orders.
