Next time you're at a thrift store, walk slower, take your time, and keep your eyes peeled — you never know what treasures might be waiting for you around the corner.
In a popular Reddit post, a thrift shopper came across a huge collection of beautifully colored Le Creuset cookware that appears to be in excellent condition.
“I found a ton of Le Creuset at a thrift store the other day,” the original poster wrote. “I walked past the pots and pans and called my husband, who was on the other side of the store, to bring over a cart!”
Everyone loves a bargain, which is why the subreddit r/ThriftStoreHauls has been all the rage lately, with shoppers discovering everything from kitchen appliances to designer bags to gold coins, simply by opting for second-hand items over new.
Not only do these savvy shoppers save a lot of money and feel happier by finding rare and valuable items, they also keep unwanted items out of landfills. Most items found at thrift stores cannot be easily recycled, so reusing is your best option for reducing waste and your impact on the environment.
Le Creuset cookware is designed to last a lifetime, and a cookware set like the one featured in the Reddit post would cost you hundreds of dollars to buy new.
One person's trash is another person's treasure.
According to Capital One Shopping, roughly 18% of Americans shop at thrift stores in person, and a staggering 93% buy second-hand items online.
“Oh my goodness this is a huge success,” one Reddit user commented.
Another Reddit user wrote, “Lucky you!!! Plus they seem to be in great condition, I would have bought them all. I love Le Creuset!”
“$900 for Le Creuset dishes! Who would give that up? Lucky you!” another fan of the cookware raved in the comments section.
