Taylor Swift joked that she feared she would die while battling a kitchen fire in her $82 million New York City apartment.
of Bad Blood The 34-year-old singer was caught in a small fire at the luxury home a few months ago, revealed her friend Gracie Abrams, and her friend has now posted a video to her Instagram of Taylor battling the blaze with a fire extinguisher.
In the video, Taylor sees a frying pan on fire on the stove and mutters, “What do I do about this?”
Grabbing a fire extinguisher, the singer added: “Did you cut this with a knife? I think we're going to die.”
As Taylor aimed the extinguisher at the flames and struggled to get the foam out, Gracie told her, “Just push it.”
Taylor is then seen calling the device a “bitch” before activating it.
She added in the video after the fire was extinguished: “Our handbags were ruined. Our shoes were ruined. And I think the whole room was ruined.”
“But it smells amazing,” added Gracie, director J.J. Abrams' daughter.
She also shared a video from the evening of the fire, which she co-wrote with Taylor. weIt was released on Friday to coincide with the release of Gracie's first album. Our Secret.
Gracie said of writing the song with Taylor, “Writing this entire song from 2am to 6am was some of the most fun I've ever had in my life. Now we know how to use a fire extinguisher @taylorswift. I love you.”
Gracie initially recounted the story of the fire six months ago: Billboard interview.
She said: “I don't know how she knew what to do after all this time and in this condition. We both had terrible coughs for weeks from the fire extinguisher fumes.”
Taylor is currently in the UK for her 'Eraser Tour' and was seen supporting her boyfriend Travis Kelsey, 34, as she performed at London's Wembley Stadium on Friday night in front of 90,000 fans and celebrity guests including Nicola Coughlan and Cara Delevingne.
