Hickory, North Carolina — Sherrill Furniture Company has appointed Thad Monroe as president, effective immediately. Monroe has served Sherrill for the past eight years as chief operating officer under the direction of Buddy Sherrill, who serves as chairman of the board of directors.
The company's brands include Sherrill Furniture, CTH/Sherrill Occasional, Precedent, Hickory White, Motioncraft and Whittemore, and it holds the licensing rights to Lillian August and Mr. & Mrs. Howard.
“Thad's background in the luxury furniture and cabinetry industry makes him the perfect person to lead Cheryl Brands. Thad has a working knowledge of all aspects of the furniture business and will serve our valued employees and customers well,” said Cheryl. “I admire his business acumen and am confident he has the ability to lead his team and drive the business forward.”
Partners on Monroe's corporate leadership team include Melanie Cooper, Charles Sherrill and Brian Milleson. Cooper has been with Sherrill for 25 years and serves as executive vice president of Sherrill Furniture Companies. Charles Sherrill has been with the company for 30 years and is senior vice president of manufacturing and product development. Milleson joined Sherrill seven years ago as chief financial officer. Director Mike Powers has returned to the company to provide advice and support to the management team.
