EASTON, Pa. – A retailer of cushions, wood crafts and other home furnishings is closing its doors in Northampton County.
Abode Home Decor, which offers “rustic yet modern home decor,” will close its brick-and-mortar store at 131 N. Third St. in downtown Easton on Jan. 28.
Owners Krista and Brian Lichtenberger and Abode staff announced on the store's Facebook page that the store is closing soon, “with great regret.”
“Over the past four years, we have gained wonderful friends and supporters,” they wrote. “The decision to close was not easy, but we made it to focus on our family and enjoy time with our growing children.”
The Lichtenbergers started Abode as a home-based business in 2020 before opening their first brick-and-mortar location in Nazareth in 2021.
In early June, the Lichtenberger family opened Abode's second brick-and-mortar store in Easton and operated both Northampton County locations for several weeks before closing the Nazareth store in late June.
In their latest announcement, the couple announced that they will be holding a huge “tent sale” at their Easton store starting January 4th until all items are gone.
Prices will be up to 70% off retail stores, and store supplies and furniture will also be on sale.
The store carries a wide selection of holiday decorations, tableware, wall art and more.
Payment is by cash only, and shoppers are asked to bring their own bags.
“We also ask that you be kind, both in your comments and when you enter the store to shop,” the announcement continues.
“This decision was extremely difficult to make. We will process all unused gift certificates during this time. Thank you again for your support over the past four years. We look forward to continuing to support small businesses. Please do not forget.”
