“The Bear” is soon returning, with season three ushering in a new era for what was once “The Beef.”
In the Season 3 trailer, released on Friday, Carmie (Jeremy Allen White), Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) and Richie (Ebon Moss Batcharak) are still sorting out the kinks at their newly redesigned and revamped restaurant, The Bear.
It's clear that the team's efforts to elevate the restaurant have paid off, as the trailer shows chefs perfectly lining up new chairs and menus — Sydney orders cavatelli and wagyu beef one after the other — but that doesn't mean all the kitchen mayhem from the first two seasons of the FX series is gone.
“That's where they train,” Richie tells Carmie in his trailer, as glasses, plates and crockery clang and break in the kitchen and restaurant.
“This is a dysfunctional kitchen,” Sydney said, to which Richie and Carmie replied in unison, “Show us a functional kitchen.”
The third season, which premieres on Hulu on June 27, will see Carmy and her friends “try their hardest to take The Bear to the highest level and do their best to stay in business,” according to the show. “Every day in the restaurant business is a losing battle. Carmy pushes herself harder than ever and demands excellence from her crew, who do their best to match Carmy's passion.”
White shared a teaser video on Instagram in early May, giving viewers a glimpse of what's to come in Season 3. The teaser shows Carmie entering the kitchen of a new restaurant, presumably after it's successfully opened.
It was reported that “The Bear” will soon begin filming for season 4 after production on season 3 wraps this spring, but it's unclear when the switch to the fourth series will happen.
