Brewtorium Brewery & Kitchen is looking for a highly organized, self-motivated, quality-driven Brewery Operations Manager to join our small but passionate team. We are a 15 barrel family-owned brewery and restaurant in north-central Austin and are expanding our draft distribution location. This position will include tasks in all areas of the brewing process, from wort production to packaging, as well as planning and administrative duties. A passion for quality and a love and knowledge of craft beer are a must.
The job responsibilities include:
- Brewery Management
- Ensuring high standards of beer quality
- Develop staff and brewing schedule
- Meets weekly with leadership team to discuss upcoming beer releases and brewing schedule related to front of house, marketing and kitchen.
- Maintain accurate raw material inventory and order materials
- Supervise the duties of brewery staff and provide support, guidance and training
- Develop a beer recipe
- Register your label with TTB and TABC for wholesale distribution
- Process wholesale orders and send invoices to Fintech
- Prepare beer explanation sheets for front desk staff
- General equipment maintenance and parts ordering
- Monitor and control beer recipe costs
- Submit monthly audit reports
- Pay sales tax monthly and quarterly
- Supervise the Distribution Account Manager and provide sales and distribution operations support as required.

- Raw materials: evaluation, organization, management, inventory
- Wort production: We pay attention to every detail and produce special wort using world-class manufacturing technology
- Yeast management: harvest, input, cell count, daily monitoring of fermentation
- Barrel Program: Fill, drain and sample as needed
- Bright Beer: Finished beer transfer, carbonation testing, quality assurance
- Packaging: Bright beer packaging in kegs and cans
- CIP Operations: Cleaning fermentation vessels, brite tanks and brewery equipment using industry best practices
- Keg management: cleaning, filling, scanning, inventory
- Strictly adhere to all prescribed SOPs and safety procedures
Required experience and skills:
- 8+ years related brewing experience
- Experience in brewery leadership and/or management roles.
- Ability to balance brewing schedules for existing staple recipes and new recipes
- Commitment to cleanliness and hygiene
- Meticulous attention to detail and self-motivation
- Ability to work unsupervised while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Time management and situational awareness
- Ability to manage multiple processes at once
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members across the brewery.
- Ability to develop reports and build and use existing spreadsheets.
- Tools – Ollie Ops/Order, Ekos, or similar brewery management software
- Ability to work evenings or weekends as needed.
- Ability to handle the physical challenges of working in a brewery.
- Mechanical or related field experience preferred
- Ability to lift a minimum of 130 pounds.
