The Kitchen Dwellers wrapped up their spring tour this weekend with three nights at Pine Creek Lodge in their hometown of Livingston, Montana. The Bozeman-born band hosted members of fellow Montana bluegrass group Lil' Smokies on Saturday for a marathon concert featuring Led Zeppelin classics and more.
KD kicked off the concert with “Covered Bridges” from his 2019 album. Muir MaidThe first set also featured a cover of Jimmy Buffett's “A Pirate Looks at Forty.”
At the end of the first set, the Kitchen Dwellers (banjo player) Torin DanielsMandolin player Sean Swain,guitarist Max Davis bassist Joe Funk — Welcome Fiddler from the Lil' Smokies Jake Simpson A cover of the 1972 Looking Glass hit “Brandy (You're a Fine Girl).” Dobro player from the Lil Smokies Andy Dunnigan He then performed KD's favorite, “Gypsy,” while Dunnigan and Simpson performed “White Water” and “Trudy.”
Fiddle and Dobro players participated throughout the second set. Muir Maid The title track. The collaboration then moved on to “Unwind” from their new album. Seven DevilsNext up is “Good Times Bad Times” by Led Zeppelin.
“Good Times Bad Times” was the opening track on Led Zeppelin's 1969 debut album and their debut single in the U.S. Daniels led the collaboration on this Zeppelin favorite at Pine Creek Lodge, with Davis delivering a blistering solo reminiscent of Jimmy Page. The band then closed out the set with “Unwind” and “Muir Maid.” The second set also featured “California” by Lil Smokies and “Stand At Ease” by Kitchen Dwellers. Make sure to check them out!
Additionally, Dunnigan and Simpson participated in the entire encore, which began with the Seven Devils classic “The Crow and the Raven (III),” continued with a cover of Sawyer Brown's “Some Girls Do,” and closed with The Bouncing Souls' “Lean On Sheena.”
