Two Rivers Fire Department
THOSE TWO RIVERS, Wis. (WFRV) – A fire broke out in the kitchen of a Two Rivers home Wednesday, but the residents and pets were able to get out safely.
According to the Two Rivers Fire Department, on July 10 at approximately 12:40 p.m., fire crews were dispatched to a residence in the 2700 block of 12th Street in response to a report of a fire.
When firefighters arrived on scene, all of the home's occupants and pets had already been safely evacuated. The fire started in the kitchen and had begun to spread to the attic, according to officials.
Moderate fire and smoke damage to the home and its contents was estimated at approximately $50,000, according to Two Rivers Fire Department officials.
No injuries have been reported and residents are receiving assistance from the Red Cross.
The Two Rivers Fire Department reminds residents that working smoke detectors are essential to providing early warning to residents of a fire. Smoke detectors should be inspected twice a year to ensure they are working properly.

Manitowoc Fire and Rescue Department, Town of Two Rivers Fire Department, Mishicot Fire and Emergency Services, Two Creeks Fire Department and Two Rivers Police Department assisted the Two Rivers Fire Department during the incident, which is currently under investigation.
