myself: (Fantastic) What's the one room that can make or break a sale in a home?
universe:Kitchen!
Kitchen trends are changing. Some of us have fond memories of eating meals with our families in the kitchen, while others, like me, still remember the nightmares of our childhood kitchens (because I hated washing dishes).
Here in Washington, we've noticed an increase in new homes being built with a focus on open concept kitchen islands.
It's been reported that you need to make at least $200,000 a year to buy a home in Seattle, and while I'm certainly nowhere near that amount, I continue to strive for a lavish lifestyle.

On my days off, I love checking out Zillow.com and daydreaming.
Let's dream big, right?

Early this afternoon, I went to the Fathom Realty website because I wanted to see if I could rent the famous houseboat from the movie Snatcher. (I think I saw an ad for it on Facebook or somewhere.)
Their real estate website features numerous multi-million dollar homes that immediately caught my attention.
I decided to take a peek into the kitchens of these homes. Let's see what Washington's wealthy are up to!
This is a $24 million home in Seattle. It even has a name. Bluff.
This is the kitchen BluffIt comes fully equipped with a dishwasher, double oven, refrigerator, stove and microwave. How nice!
That was fun! Let's take a look at another (for me) out-of-reach kitchen for sale.
This $12 million home is also located in Seattle and is spread across several floors.
Here's the kitchen! Wow, it's so spacious! I love that it's an open concept.
I'm also drooling over the closets in this house, but that's a story for another day!
If I saw any more luxury home kitchens I'd probably spontaneously combust, but here's one more.
This is a $5 million home near Olympia.
If you dream of a more luxurious kitchen and want to see “how other people live”, try Sotheby's International.
