A new consignment store has opened in Owasso.
The Turquoise Couch, located at 8751 N. 117th E. Ave., opened in early November and offers a variety of furniture and home decor items.
Owner Amy Cannon started the business from her hometown of Claremore in June 2018 after five years running Willow Tree Mall, an antiques and clothing space in historic downtown.
In October of this year, Cannon decided to move to a larger space after considering other locations in the area, including Pryor and Muskogee. It didn't take long for her to realize that Owasso was the perfect place for her.
“We were looking at the size of the town, the economic situation and where we could put a new store. We shop here a lot,” Cannon said. “We found out that Owasso was probably a good place to go.”

Cannon nearly doubled the size of the store during the transition, going from 3,800 square feet at the Claremore store to 7,100 square feet at the Owasso store.
Turquoise Couch features a wide range of homewares from local vendors, from vintage to modern, western and farmhouse varieties.
Patrons can browse tables and chairs, bedroom sets, dressers and cabinets, shelves, pillows and rugs, candles and keepsakes, as well as several holiday-themed pieces with Christmas decorations currently on display. You can view it.
Cannon said she enjoys participating in the local consignment scene. This deal gives her the opportunity to not only help local people find the perfect furniture for their homes, but also to share the emotion behind each item in a special way.
“We bring them in, we clean them, shippers bring them in and tell us the stories behind them. And sometimes those stories are shared with the people who buy them. and those stories continue,” Cannon said.
Friends Katsy Smalygo and Reanna Phillips visited the store recently and said they enjoyed browsing the store together to find new items.
“We've been planning this all week,” Smarigo said. “I love coming here because I can decorate my whole house in this place. There are so many nice things.”
Phillips added, “I've been sending pictures to my husband the whole time I've been here. I like more Western things, and my husband likes them too.”
Joan Anderson, who has been an avid patron of Turquoise Couch since it opened in Claremore, also shared her thoughts on what she admires about the store.
“It's a unique place. You can't find anything like this anywhere else, which is why I came here,” said Anderson, who is currently traveling from Claremore to Owasso. “It’s just fun and there’s always something going on.”
When asked what it means to be a part of the Owasso community, Cannon replied, “I love being a part of the Owasso community. “We love our community and we love the families we meet. Every time they come here, they feel right at home.”
