For under $1 million, you can find a variety of home configurations, from studios next to parks or the subway, to one-bedrooms tucked away in carriage houses or former shoe factories, and even true two-bedrooms. We're scouring the market in the six-figure price range for apartments that are especially spacious, nicely renovated, or otherwise worth a look.
I'm heading to the Heat Dome this week, so I went looking for a pool.

Based on the listing photos, this is a modest new build, but it's a modest new build with a pool.

Though the staging doesn't inspire much confidence, this 700-square-foot studio makes good use of the space, with a little alcove for the bed and a nice separation from the living room. South-facing windows let in lots of light, and the kitchen has custom cabinetry along with Miele and Bosch appliances (though you might not like the countertops and backsplash). But the reason we came here is the gorgeous rooftop pool with grill.

Though this Sunnyside Towers apartment complex needs some upkeep, it offers corner units with hardwood floors and on-site laundry. At $894 per month, it's also affordable and comes with a sizable and quaint heated outdoor pool — a reminder that a pool doesn't have to be fancy to be enjoyable.

As you can see from the photos of this property, there's plenty of light in this space.

A little lonely? Yes, but you can warm it up with your personal touch. Great location, nice open layout with living room leading to balcony. What it lacks in charm it makes up for with great appliances (Summit refrigerator and LG washer/dryer). Seller agreed to pay the assessment of $217 per month for one year. And of course, there's a rooftop pool.

This 2 bedroom unit is also a corner unit, with a private terrace off the living room and a large chef's kitchen with lots of nice cabinetry. I feel like the atmosphere of this apartment is fading. Why! The bathrooms definitely need a refresh, but there are 1.5, more than most on this list. The building has a full-sized pool surrounded by greenery. You'll experience the express bath life, but the rest of the time you'll be happy to towel off in the warm wooden galley and look out over the treetops.
