OMG Hospitality is bringing fine dining to the heart of Pacific Beach with the opening of the third Union Kitchen and Tap location, which has sister locations in Gaslamp and Encinitas.
Known for its sophisticated modern take on timeless classics, Union Kitchen and Tap offers the best of new American cuisine, local craft beer, wine, and handcrafted cocktails.
Union Kitchen and Tap – Pacific Beach
Located on Garnet Avenue, just off Mission Boulevard, the space was previously occupied by Backyard Kitchen & Tap.
The 6,000-square-foot Pacific Beach venue boasts a spacious layout with a lounge-like feel, indoor and outdoor dining options, and multiple televisions for sports enthusiasts to watch all the big games. Featuring a lively main bar and comfortable lounge spaces perfect for groups. And a party.
Highlights of the dinner include:
- Shrimp & Grits with Andouille, Roasted Tomato, Aged White Cheddar, Anson Mills Grits, and Chives
- Union gumbo made with andouille, smoked chicken, orca, jasmine rice and finished with green onions
- Watermelon salad with heirloom cherry tomatoes, cucumber, avocado, ricotta salata, arugula, and sherry shallot vinaigrette.
- Prime steaks including 12 oz prime New York strip, 7 oz filet mignon, and 18 oz prime bone-in ribeye with maître d'er butter and Union steak sauce
The rest of the menu also includes salads, sides, and indulgent desserts like Aunt Dubo's Peanut Butter Pie and Molly's Homemade Carrot Cake.

Serving brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with bottomless mimosas, the following entrees are available for purchase.
- Skillet Cornbread Benedict, Grilled Andouille, Poached Egg, Roasted Orca, Mustard Bacon Hollandaise
- Chicken and Waffles made with bacon, cheddar cheese, green onion cornbread waffles, buttermilk fried chicken, and Sunny Farm Eggs topped with Sriracha maple glaze.
- Breakfast Flatbread topped with béchamel, mozzarella, andouille, cherry wood smoked bacon, roasted tomatoes, sunny farm eggs, chives and maple syrup
- Short rib breakfast burrito with beer braised short ribs, scrambled eggs, cotija cheese, avocado, fries and chipotle cream.

Union Kitchen and Tap Pacific Beach's beverage program features a selection of draft beers, canned beers, wine, and craft cocktails. The main contents are as follows.
- Purple Haze made with illegal mezcal, ginger liqueur, prickly pear, lime and sage
- California Soul made with Tito, lavender, coconut, guava, agave, and lemon
- Good Vibrations made with freshly squeezed cucumber, grapefruit, lime, ginger, and your favorite spirits
- 2 Cool 2 Bee 4-Gotten is made with blackberry-infused Bulleit bourbon, cider, lemon, and cinnamon.
Some cocktails are also available as non-alcoholic versions.

Union Kitchen and Tap Pacific Beach is located at 832 Garnet Ave. in San Diego, closed Mondays and open for dinner Tuesday through Friday from 4 to 10 p.m. Saturday through Sunday, brunch is served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and dinner is served from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The bar will be open until 2 a.m. every night and will only serve cocktails, beer, and wine. Additional weekly programs on Tuesdays from 4pm to 7pm include $1.25 oysters and $5 shaken martinis. On Wednesdays from 4pm to 8pm, wine by the glass and bottle will be half price. Live music on Thursdays. And on Fridays there's a DJ.
