Quiet, understated luxury is on the rise, with the aesthetic zeitgeist shifting towards harmony and integration. Reflecting this trend is CG Cucina, a creative meeting between luxury Swiss appliances manufacturer V-Zug and renowned furniture maker Christopher Guy, a brand founded by the late British founder and now headquartered in Singapore.
Offering elegance and delicacy in equal measure, the collection cleverly incorporates the 111-year-old Swiss brand's appliances into two mobile kitchen cabinets, each of which allows unrestricted access to the seamlessly integrated electronics without distracting from the craftsmanship of the products themselves.
The cabinets feature a reed pattern design reminiscent of the staircase walls at British department store favourite Harrods and Christopher Guy's signature carved knot handles, creating functional storage space beneath the star appliances.
One of the two cabinets (pictured above) is a perfect match for the V-Zug combi steam oven and is designed for home party hosts, while the other is aimed at the everyday cook in the kitchen and will house a small combi steam oven, coffee machine and wine cooler.
It's only fitting that the company is unveiling the cabinets at EuroCucina, the biennial international kitchen trade fair held in Milan, since the city is also home to its newest flagship studio.
Overlooking St. Mark's Square, V-Zug's first Italian flagship store was designed in collaboration with Italian architect and interior designer Elisa Ossino and epitomizes the brand's signature poetic simplicity. The sophisticated, minimalist space blends innovative technology with natural materials, transporting visitors to the future while simultaneously evoking the warmth of a fireplace.
