Vietnam's timber and timber product exports decreased due to the impact of high inflation in the export market.
The General Department of Customs announced that Vietnam's exports of wood and wood products decreased by 4.9% year-on-year to $1.5 billion in June.
Exports of timber and timber products in the first half of the year totaled $8.5 billion, an increase of 2.8% year-on-year. However, the export value of wood products fell by 4.6% from the previous year to $6 billion.
In the structure of export wood and wood products in the first five months of this year, wooden furniture was the main export item. However, exports decreased due to a slowdown in global demand.
