A Wallingford woman was arrested early Thursday after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend in the arm with a kitchen knife, Nether Providence police said.
Police charged Kelly Kelly, 36, with aggravated assault, simple assault and possession of criminal instruments.
Police received a call just after 2:30 a.m. regarding a stabbing victim in the 300 block of Moore Road, Police Chief David Splane said in a news release.
Police encountered the male victim outside with his left arm held down and a fresh stab wound above the elbow.
The suspect told police he was sleeping on the couch when he woke up to his girlfriend's screams. She had a steak knife or bread knife and stabbed the suspect. The suspect fled the home and called 911.
Kelly was sitting on the living room floor and when police arrived, “they stabbed him and threw the knife,” the affidavit said.
She was arrested without resistance and arraigned before District Judge Walter A. Strohl, who set bail at 10 percent of $50,000. Unable to post bail, she was taken to the Delaware County Jail to await a preliminary hearing on June 5.
