Walmart recalls popular veggie chopper to reduce risk
according to Food & WineOn April 4, Walmart announced a recall for the Mainstays Electric Mini Chopper due to an increased risk of lacerations.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, “Chopper blades can operate unexpectedly during assembly or when uncontained, posing a laceration hazard to consumers.”
Whether you're a vegetable grower like Carrie Underwood or farmer Blake Shelton, or just a regular daily consumer of vegetables, if you're chopping them with the Mainstays Electric Mini Chopper. , no need to carve with it anymore.
In most cases, products are recalled when an injury or defect occurs while using the product.
Walmart has received five reports of injuries related to this product, which is only sold in its stores. Two of the injuries required medical attention and stitches. Walmart said in its recall notice that all of the injuries occurred during assembly or cleaning and handling of the chopper.
