Kajal, the video's director, is from New York herself and wanted to capture the rhythm and energy of the city that is the heartbeat of the song and the musical. Kajal, who leads an all-female directorial team, uses city lights and sounds, unique camera angles, vintage lenses, wide angles, and more to bring a cinematic flair to the story. The choreography was directed by HELL'S KITCHEN choreographer Camille A. Brown.
The characters in the video were encouraged to incorporate their own style into their wardrobes, a unique sense of New York swagger. Alicia also participated.
