Whatever happened to Joseph Tinnelly from Hell's Kitchen?
While he was certainly incredibly talented, Joseph also had a very short temper. In one episode of the show, he went head-to-head with Gordon, willing to take on the celebrity chef.
He ends up taking his jacket off. Of course, we know Gordon has a bad temper, but at least he's in control. It was immediately clear that Joseph wasn't going to be on the show for long, and he was sent home in that episode.

Why did Joseph try to fight Gordon, and was it staged?
There's been a lot of speculation about what really happened – it is a reality show after all, so some may have been exaggerated.
Some fans on Reddit pointed out that Joseph is a military veteran, and that PTSD may have been the cause of his impaired judgment and sudden rages. However, some argued that this may be a dangerous stereotype. One fan said, “We don't know if Joseph served in combat, and even if he did, that doesn't guarantee PTSD in and of itself, so unless he or someone close to him mentions PTSD, it's probably safe to assume he was just a hot-headed asshole.”

Another fan pointed out that he's not the only veteran who found himself under pressure from Gordon: “The show had chefs on other seasons who served overseas and probably suffered from some sort of PTSD, but they never behaved like Joseph. He was just an asshole who couldn't handle the pressure,” the fan said.
Whether it was fake or not is something only he and the producers really know. “My personal opinion is that he was a set-up because honestly it looked fake (at least to me),” one fan argued.
