There's nothing worse than opening a drawer and pulling out a white t-shirt only to find yellow stains under the armpits or around the neck.
Not only will it become unwearable, but stubborn stains will be especially difficult to remove.
With this in mind, Alex Ekons, clothing cleaning expert and founder of ICON Printing, shared his advice for removing nasty yellow stains from white laundry.
Alex says that if your clothes are starting to lose their shine or are yellowing after heavy use, you can easily bring them back to life with white vinegar, a 35p household staple.
Alex says: “To make your white clothes shine again, try a natural vinegar-based solution.
“Not only is this method gentler on your clothes, but it's also better for the environment, as vinegar is less toxic than bleach.”
“To make a solution at home, mix half a teaspoon of laundry powder with 1/4 cup of white vinegar and 1/4 cup of cold water.
“Apply this directly to the stain, lightly brush it onto the stained area, and then wash the T-shirt immediately.
“When drying whites, always do so outside if the weather is nice.
If you don't have white vinegar on hand, you can use baking soda instead, according to the experts at The Spruce.
Baking soda is a natural bleaching agent. Add half a cup of baking soda to your washing machine's detergent tank to help remove dirt and tough stains.
Stockwell & Co. bicarbonate of soda costs 65p in Tesco, while BAKE by Asda's bicarbonate of soda is also 65p.
