Our next stop was Z's Music Kitchen in Freedom Square in South Naples.
An appetizing start was the seared pork ($12.95). Roasted pork is placed on top of lettuce, topped with Thai barbecue sauce, and surrounded by toasted bread. The bread was nice and the sauce was tangy and tasty, but the pork was very greasy.
For my main dish, I chose “Venice Grouper Pasta” ($25.95). Seared Mexican grouper served with lemon and garlic white wine sauce and angel hair with green pepper and spinach. This was the most beautiful dish presented. The pasta and sauce were excellent and the grouper was very lightly grilled.
My dining companion chose the Philadelphia Cheesesteak Sandwich ($15.95). Served with hand-cut fries or slaw. He chose the latter. A sandwich made with thinly sliced roast beef. It contains green peppers and onions, and is served wrapped in a hoagie roll with melted provolone. Huge!
This dish received the highest ratings of the night. Highly recommended!
This is my second time visiting Z's. The first time we visited was in April 2022, almost 2 years ago.
My favorite on this visit was the cheese curds. Unfortunately, it is no longer available.
The main dish was the “Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich”, which was my first attempt. Fried chicken sandwiched between brioche buns and topped with hot sauce. You can choose fries or coleslaw. I chose fries. And these were like heaven. The sandwich had tomato slices, lettuce, a handful of pickles, and a whole onion slice. I knew the sauce was spicy so I added all the toppings. I've never tried Nashville Hot before so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I can say it was delicious.
My dining companion had the BBQ pork sandwich, which featured, you guessed it, shredded BBQ pork. But here's the kicker. Blue cheese coleslaw is on top of the Cusano roll. What is Cusano Roll? It seems like an umbrella term for any artisan bread. But let me tell you this: It looked exactly like the brioche buns I had hot in Nashville.
There was great service. Happy Meals!
